Poland's tourism prospects brighten

Warsaw, Poland
If your starting point is the capital, Warsaw, then expect a journey into hedonism as you explore some of the best clubs and bars in the country.

If you’re after something more cerebral then check out the Warsaw Uprising Museum – possibly the best museum in Poland. Most travellers tend to gravitiate towards Poland’s seat of culture, Kraków, and you won’t be disappointed with its cobbled Old Town, world class dining and endless cellar bars. It’s the ideal base to explore Poland; flanking it on each side are the Auschwitz death camp, and Poland’s winter capital, Zakopane. Regarded as Poland’s answer to Aspen expect little less than a top notch ski resort which pairs natural beauty with a lively nightlife.

Greek Yoghurt

Taste the original Greek yoghurt
Yoghurt, sour cream and buttermilk can all be lumped into the same category when it comes to baking. They’re all dairy products that help to tenderize baked goods and can be a bit on the tangy side. At least, plain yoghurt can be a bit on the tangy side. For years, it seemed like the only way you could buy yoghurt was pumped full of sweeteners, flavorings and mashed up fruit. Plain yoghurt has definitely enjoyed a resurgence in popularity over the past couple of years. Not only does this mean that we now have access to better quality yoghurt, but there are more types of yoghurt to choose from. Greek yoghurt is the obvious example of this, as at least 50% of all recipes that include yoghurt now seem to specify “Greek-style yoghurt” over any other kind.

You can even find some decent glacier or ice climbs around some of the highest peaks.

Numerous golf courses are in the planning stages. One well-established facility that is anticipating a major expansion is the Glyfada Golf Course near Athens. This pine-studded course with a view of the Saronic Gulf islands is open year-round, closing only on Christmas and Easter.
