Poland's tourism prospects brighten
Warsaw, Poland |
If you’re after something more cerebral then check out the Warsaw Uprising Museum – possibly the best museum in Poland. Most travellers tend to gravitiate towards Poland’s seat of culture, Kraków, and you won’t be disappointed with its cobbled Old Town, world class dining and endless cellar bars. It’s the ideal base to explore Poland; flanking it on each side are the Auschwitz death camp, and Poland’s winter capital, Zakopane. Regarded as Poland’s answer to Aspen expect little less than a top notch ski resort which pairs natural beauty with a lively nightlife.

Rock climbing in Europe
Europe is home to many classic climb trips. There are several mountain ranges conveniently spread all around the small continent, so wherever you are you should have a good climb within a few hours’ drive. Apart from the Alps, you can find good rock climbing in Greenland, Russia's Caucacus Range, the Scottish Highlands and many other destinations. You can even find some decent glacier or ice climbs around some of the highest peaks.
Ulamertorsuaq, Greenland
This 3,000 foot granite rock face, nicknamed the Big Cylinder, near Tasermiut Fjord in South Greenland is a favorite of many great climbers, but expect to shell out big bucks to get there.

Golfing in Greece
As golfing grows in popularity worldwide, more and more travellers are seeking out the links on their vacations. In Greece, golfing is not yet as popular a sport as elsewhere, but there are still some courses to allow the visitor to explore a different kind of "Classic" in Greece.
Numerous golf courses are in the planning stages. One well-established facility that is anticipating a major expansion is the Glyfada Golf Course near Athens. This pine-studded course with a view of the Saronic Gulf islands is open year-round, closing only on Christmas and Easter.
