Brad Pitt might be returning to Greece

Sexy Hollywood star Brad Pitt might star in a new adaptation of Greek poet Homer's famous masterpiece The Odyssey, set in outer space.

Four years after Pitt’s big screen portrayal of Homer’s Troy scored very good at the box office, the star is teaming up again with Warner Bros studios and returning to ancient Greece. The Odyssey follows the story of Odysseus and his return to Ithaca following the end of the Trojan War, which is thought to have taken place around the 11th and 12th centuries B.C.

But this Hollywood remake of The Odyssey promises to be very different as it will be a science fiction version based in space, according to the reports in Variety, the entertainment magazine. The story will be directed by George Miller, the director of Mad Max, according to the paper. Although Brad Pitt is not yet signed to the project, Warner Bros’ chiefs want Pitt to star in and produce the movie with his company Plan B.

Miller is currently directing a forthcoming superhero tale 'Justice League' which will combine Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman in one film. Pitt has just finished filming David Fincher’s ‘The Curious Case of Benjamin Button’ and Terrence Malick’s ‘Tree of Life’ and he is about to star in Quentin Tarantino’s World War II film, ‘Inglourious Basterds’.
