Golden Ring – not only a jewellery!

Did you know that „golden ring” is not only a piece of jewellery but also a traditional and very famous touristroute of old cities in Russia, which shaped the early history of country? Golden Ring is located to the northeast of Moscow and includes the old cities of Vladimir, Suzdal, Sergiev Posad, Rostov Veliky, Yaroslavl and Kostroma.

Cities and towns are located close to each other, therefore you can explore the route by car or even by bike! The 'classical' route starts from Moscow, goes through Vladimir, Suzdal, Kostroma, Yaroslavl, Rostov Velikiy, Pereslavl-Zalesskiy, Sergiev Posad and returns to Moscow.Whole trip may take 2-3 days.

During the trip you will have an opportunity to see the Russian architecture of the XII-XVII centuries, many churches made from white stone with the golden spires and onion domes still marking the horizon, old fortifications, fortresses, beautiful monasteries and hear the bellring!

To take a rest from busy life in Moscow, walk around hilly countryside and experience the calmer and more peaceful life Suzdal and Rostov Veliky are the best. Alternatively, you can go to bigger towns of Golden Ring like Vladimir, Kostroma and Yaroslavl to enjoy the provincial and more traditional way of life with some relics of the Soviet times.Whatever you choose you will not be dissapointed!
